Reed wins co-angler title, $5,000 LA PLATA, Md. (July 21, 2007) – Spiderwire pro Bobby Lane of Lakeland, Fla., caught a five-bass limit weighing 9 pounds, 3 ounces Saturday to win the $275,225 Stren Series Northern Division tournament presented by Evinrude on the Potomac River with a four-day total of 20 bass weighing 65-14. For his victory, Lane earned $25,000 cash and a $40,000 519VX Ranger boat powered by Yamaha. “I love fishing the Potomac River,” said Lane, who finally captured his first win that has eluded him since joining FLW Outdoors in 2002. “I am so excited to finally win one. This means the world to me.” |

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Putting to rest a seven-year drought, Dean Rojas of Lake Havasu, Ariz., scored victory at the Champion’s Choice presented by Ramada Worldwide on New York’s Oneida Lake, the final Bassmaster Elite Series event of the season. With the victory, Rojas crossed the $1 million mark in career BASS earnings and upped his victory tally to three by posting a four-day total of 65 pounds, 2 ounces, which was enough to hold off hard-charging Kevin Langill of Terrell, N.C., and 2006 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year Mike Iaconelli of Runnemede, N.J. |

Enhancements Include 66 Percent Increase in Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year Program Payo
CELEBRATION, Fla. – BASS announced enhancements to its tournament structure today. Next season, Bassmaster Elite Series anglers will compete from their own branded boats in all competition days of BASS tournaments, including the Bassmaster Classic. Additionally, BASS introduced a 66 percent increase in payout for the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year, which will now boast a $250,000 top prize. |

Following are the BassFan World Rankings as updated after the recent Wheeler and Kentucky Lake Bassmaster Elite Series events:
Imagine the inside of a plutonium atom at the very moment of a nuclear chain reaction and you'll get some idea of just how hot Kevin VanDam is. He finished a close 2nd at Wheeler, then slammed home a win at Kentucky Lake - his second of the year and fourth in the last 14 months. In his most recent four events he's finished 4th, 8th, 2nd and 1st, respectively. His lead in the World Rankings has grown to an unprecedented 42-plus points, and he's arguably the most dominant athlete in professional sports today.
